Teaching a New Generation of Responsible Leaders

Organizations are increasingly recognizing the value of operating in a responsible and sustainable manner toward its diverse stakeholders. Central to any responsible or sustainable actions are the values, preferences, and behaviors of an organization's leadership. Award Winning

EMBA Human Resource Management

  • Winner of the 2018 EMBA Faculty Excellence Award. This award is voted on by Executive MBA students and recognizes the professor who has contributed most significantly to their EMBA experience.

Leading Responsibly

  • Winner of the 2010 Lewis Quality Award. This award is given to individuals, organizations, work teams, or cross-functional teams within the Broad School that engage in innovative activities to further the mission of the Broad School.

Executive Development: Building Winning Teams

 

I am a founding faculty of the Building Winning Teams executive development program, which is a collaboration between the management faculty in the Broad College of Business and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Michigan State University. It is designed to help managers build sustainable skills in the area of leadership and team effectiveness. As part of this program I led a session on Team Recruitment and Selection where participants learned critical skills including:

  • Staffing for strategic alignment
  • Analyzing job requirements and specifications
  • Assessing candidates on team competencies
  • Recruiting top talent
